Ever since we first came to the Philippines, something special happened. We were able to see beyond our comfort zones, and we were able to grasp how life could be drastically different if we wanted it to. When we returned home, we knew things had changed and we were headed towards something new.
Reconnect Discover was born out of a dream to live differently, desire to reconnect with what’s really important in life, and to live closer to nature. Not only the beautiful wild nature, but our nature. What came more naturally for us, how we wanted to live our lives.
So we packed our bags, and left on a journey, which we now want to share with you.
We want to offer you a space to reconnect, to enjoy the unspoiled nature, to take distance from your every-day life and to provide you an inspirational break from the rest of your life. We want to offer you space to reflect, to sit quietly, to discover the world and at the same time to discover who you really are, underneath it all.
It is our mission to share our passion for a life outside the ‘normal‘, and to show you the joy and delight that comes from living true to who you are.
It’s our mission to provide you with space to reflect, give you some magic to take back home, allow you to discover new sides of yourself, reconnect with something deep within you, and to remind you there is life beyond your comfort zone.
In my early thirties I found myself in a place that didn’t fit anymore. I disliked how my life felt, and I wanted to do something different. I wanted to feel authentic, I wanted to be happy and feel the flow of life again.
Yoga and diving came into my life to show me how life can also be. Instead of pushing, running, stressing and following a path in life determined by others, I found a way to live which made me excited and happy.
Because of bad knees I ended up in yoga at the age of 32, hoping it would make it easier to keep on running. What I found was a place of stillness instead. I fell head over heels with Yin yoga. Since then I have completed some teacher training’s, taught some classes, and finally found my place as offering the platform for students and teachers to meet, to connect.
During one holiday I tried diving, although I thought that I never could. Having the courage to finish something like this gave me the push to view myself differently. Maybe I wasn’t the corporate girl I thought I wanted to be, maybe I was a wild one destined for greater things.
I studied to become a Life Coach and NLP Practitioner, and we had this crazy dream called Reconnect Discover. On one fine day I quit my corporate job, and haven’t looked back. I even became a PADI Rescue Diver!
And now I want to invite your here. What I want to offer is not just about yoga poses, it’s about finding the stillness within you to reconnect. It’s not about how it looks, but all about how it makes you feel. It’s an individual process that happens on your mat and in your heart. And it’s not just about diving. It’s about conquering your fears, deciding you can act regardless of fear, and it’s about redefining who you tell yourself you are, and what you tell yourself you can do.
The heart decides, and what it decides is all that really matters.

I’ve had many hobbies in my life, but the single one passion I stuck with for all my life has been photography. Until a few years ago, when I (much too late) discovered diving. On my very first dive, a Discover Scuba Diving Experience, I fell in love with it so completely, that I knew right there right then, it was what I wanted to do.
I love to make people feel what I felt that very first dive, a kind of ecstasy which is hard to describe in words , and I love to see the look of excitement on my students’ faces when they take their first breaths underwater, when they see their first turtle gliding by so close that we can almost touch it (but we never do!). I love to try and help people get over their fears of breathing underwater, and the reward for helping people accomplish that, is profound in many ways.
I have done a lot of “adrenaline stuff”. I was a BMX racer for over 20 years. I’ve been a sports climber for many years, I’ve done my share of bungee jumps. But nothing’s been so exhilarating, and at the same time meditative, to me as scuba diving. When I’m not teaching I love to just go grab a tank and go out with my camera, taking pictures of all the funky stuff we get to see here underwater. In addition to my love of scuba diving, I am also a freedive instructor, diving down on a single breath.
It’s really hard to define the feeling of being in a beautiful, laid-back place like this. I’d invite you to just come over and give it a try yourself, I promise you won’t be disappointed!
The only way to yourself is through yourself.
